The Village Clerk is appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. |

| The Village Clerk performs duties as required by State Statute and Village Ordinance: |

Custodian of the Village seal and keeper of the Village records |

Attends meetings of the Village Board and records the minutes |
| |
- |
Publishes and attests to all resolutions and ordinances approved by the Village Board |
| |
- |
Maintains the Village codes and official documents |

Provides information |
| |
- |
Voter registration |
| |
- |
Administration of elections serving as Local Election Official and Deputy to the Cook County Voter Registration Officer |

- |
Certifies election petitions for referenda and candidacy for elected Village offices |
| |
- |
Provides information on elections laws and location of polling places |
| |
- |
Serves as a member of the Local Electoral Board |
| |
- |
Processes Liquor Licenses, Freedom of Information forms, solicitation and tag day requests |

- |
Legal notices published and public hearings arranged before the Village Board, Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals |

- |
Records management and filings with Cook and DuPage Counties |
| |
- |
Information and brochures on services provided by the Village and other public agencies are available free of charge at the Administration Counter/Village Clerk's Office |
