Court Decision

According to 'The Modernization of O'Hare International Airport', published by the City of Chicago, there are 16 of 3,800 Elk Grove Village businesses that have publicly endorsed the Chicago expansion plan, as well as the Greater O'Hare Association of Industry and Commerce, which would include:

  • the teardown of Elk Grove Village industrial buildings, the relocation of businesses outside of our community;
  • the reconfiguration of runways that point to the heart of our residential section diminishing our quality of life;
  • the loss of tax base that supports essential public services provided by Elk Grove Village, including emergency response services (Fire, Police, and EMS) and the loss of tax base that supports our schools, Library and Park District; and
  • the ability of the City of Chicago to acquire whatever Elk Grove Village properties it deems necessary for the expansion of O'Hare.
