Public Education
CPR
This is a 3 hour class that teaches adult CPR and choking emergencies. It can be conducted at your facility or at our training facility. This class teaches employees how to react to a medical emergency and how to identify serious medical emergencies. The cost is $5.00 per person.
 
First Aid
This is a 3 hour class that covers various aspects of First Aid including diabetic and breathing emergencies, trauma emergencies, chemical emergencies, etc. It can be done at your facility or at our training facility. The cost is $5.00 per person.
 
CPR/First Aid
This is a combination class and generally will run 5-6 hours with a lunch break in the middle. The cost is $10.00 per person.
 
CPR/AED
This is a 4-hour course that includes adult CPR and choking emergencies, and covers how to use an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator). The cost of this course is $5.00 per person.
 
Fire Extinguisher Training
This course runs about 2-3 hours and includess an hour of video and lecture on fire safety and fire behavior, then allows all students to practice using a fire extinguisher on a live fire with our propane fire trainer. The cost if $5.00 per person. This course requires that you provide extra fire extinguishers and a training or conference room with TV/VCR. We will also need a safe, open area in the parking lot to conduct the live fire training. This course can also be given at our Training facility if needed.
 
Emergency Evacuation Planning
The Fire Department will come to your facility to review or help you create an evacuation plan for your facility. We can also come to your facility to help you locate Tornado-safe areas and look at any fire or other safety concerns you may have.
 
DOT Hazardous Materials Certification Training
This training will satisfy the DOT requirements for Hazardous Materials Training for all employees who handle, transport or fill out documents that deal with Hazardous Materials. It is a 3-4 hour class and the cost is $10.00 per person.
 
Fire Hazard Risk Assessment
In this program, we come to your facility and help you evaluate potential fire hazards, evaluate the risk for those people working there, and present recommendations to improve fire safety and reduce risk.
 
Our training facility is located at 1000 Oakton, Fire Station #8. If we conduct the class at your facility, you will need a training or conference type room and a TV/VCR. Class sizes are limited to 12 people per class for CPR, First Aid, and AED classes and 25 people for the Fire Extinguisher classes. If you need additional personnel trained, we can hold several classes.
