In early 2015, the Industrial/Commercial Revitalization Commission (ICRC) took on a new form as the Business Leader's Forum (BLF).
Members of the Business Leaders Forum will serve as advisers to the Village, offering feedback and analysis on economic development opportunities, challenges facing the business community, and other issues involving commercial and industrial areas of the Village. Membership is by invitation of the Mayor and Board of Trustees. Current ICRC members have the option to serve as Legacy Members with new members added.
In all, the Business Leaders Forum will be made up of 15-20 private and public sector leaders representing the diverse business interests that operate in the Village. Village staff from Economic Development, Public Works, Police, Fire, and Community Development may attend meetings to assist the Forum as needed.
Building on the ICRC’s significant achievements, the Business Leaders Forum offers local business leaders the opportunity to impact the future of our community. Specific goals and benchmarks are being planned as the committee begins its meetings. Results will be outlined — possibly via an Annual Report or other deliverables.
In addition to providing feedback and recommendations, Forum members will benefit from networking with one another. Meetings will be held quarterly. The minimal commitment for membership will be to attend a majority of the meetings.
