Community Spirit Award

Community Spirit AwardThe Community Spirit Award recognizes the many contributions that people have made to improve the overall well being of Elk Grove Village. Furthermore, it acknowledges and celebrates community spirit and good will. Award recipients can be an individual, family, or group who contribute with a single spontaneous act of kindness and/or an on-going contribution. The Community Spirit Award will recognize a person of any age who lives, works, or attends school in Elk Grove Village.

The Community Spirit Award Committee won an award of its own in 2001. The Committee won first place for the Governor's Hometown Award in the General category. The Governor's Hometown Award's mission is to recognize those outstanding volunteer groups who are making a difference in their community. If you know an individual or group doing something good in our community please nominate them for the Community Spirit Award. Volunteer Recognition

Each year, The Village of Elk Grove Village recognizes at the Annual Village Dinner one or more volunteers who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and commitment to our community. Many volunteers are "unsung" or go unrecognized for their efforts. With this in mind, the Community Service Volunteer Recognition Committee would like to ask for your assistance in nominating any volunteers you feel should be recognized. The individual must be a resident of Elk Grove Village for three or more years, served as a volunteer for at least three years, be 16 years of age or older, and have not previously received this award. Current members of the Village Board of Trustees or Village Commissions are not eligible for this award. This is a wonderful opportunity to recognize and thank exceptional Elk Grove Village volunteers for their efforts.

The Community Service Board works cooperatively with other human service organizations. For a listing of service organizations, see Community Service Resources.
