The Elk Grove Village Fire Department Inspectional Services Division (ISD) seeks to reduce the number and severity of fire occurrences in the community. One of the ways this goal is achieved is through an active fire code enforcement program.
ISD conducts life safety inspections at schools, churches, medical facilities, multi-family residential occupancies, restaurants, commercial occupancies, and industrial buildings. ISD is also responsible for reviewing specialized and high-hazard buildings or processes, fire system plan reviews, and witnessing of fire pump and sprinkler system tests. The Division also oversees fireworks display permits, the Knox Box program, and conducts false fire alarm follow-up.
These services are performed by highly trained staff members, with assistance from on-duty shift personnel, as part of our ongoing effort to keep Elk Grove Village a fire-safe community in which to live and work.
If you have questions about any of these programs or services, please call the Fire Administration Office at (847) 734-8000.
