Project Update - September 2018
Sodding on Maple Lane and Victoria Lane has been completed and the project is now finished.
The Maple Lane Water Main Improvement Project is completed with the exception of FINAL landscaping. The crews will return in September to remove the erosion control blanket and redress the topsoil and will then place fertilizer and sod.
The Maple Lane Water Main Improvement Project is completed with the exception of final landscaping. The asphalt patching of the roadway and concrete restoration has been completed. The excavated and disturbed parkway areas have been prepared for final landscaping. Topsoil has been added to those areas along with erosion control blanket to minimize soil erosion. Traffic control barricades have been removed from the project site. The crews will return in September to remove the erosion control blanket, redress the topsoil, and place sod.
The contractor completed the pavement patching for the previous water main work on both Maple Lane and Victoria Lane. Currently, the contractor is placing pulverized topsoil along with pre-emergent weed control and an erosion control blanket. The blanket is installed to stabilize the soil until final landscaping can be completed. New sod will be installed in early September when the weather is more conducive for sod growth. Work activities for the remainder of the week of July 16 and the following week include jobsite cleanup, barricade removal and addressing project punch list work.
Swallow Construction has completed all of the water main work on Maple Lane and Victoria Lane. The concrete subcontractor has completed sidewalk, curb and driveway apron restoration resulting from the water main work. The week of July 16, they are grading parkways in preparation of final landscaping and replacing the stone trenches with asphalt pavement patches.
The contractor, Swallow Construction, is in the process of connecting new water services to the new water main. The week of July 2nd, after the water service transfers are completed, the contractor will start scheduling water main connections to connect the new water main to the existing water main at Victoria Lane, Love Street and Maple Court. Restoration of the roadway, concrete curbs and sidewalks, and topsoil will be completed within the next couple of weeks.
The water main passed pressure and chlorination test. Resident’s water services will begin being transferred to the new water main the week of June 25th.
The week of June 11th, Swallow Construction has completed the installation of the water main. The week of June 18th, the contractor will pressure test and chlorinate the new water main.
The week of June 4th, the section of the 12" water main was completed on Victoria Lane between Elk Grove Boulevard and Maple Lane. The contractor will continue with the installation of the 12" water main on Maple Lane, working from Victoria Lane towards Love Street.
The new water main, which was installed at the Victoria Lane and Elk Grove Boulevard intersection, passed the chlorination testing. The contractor is preparing the intersection for pavement patching and landscape restoration. On Friday June 1st, the contractor will begin installing new water main on Victoria Lane between Elk Grove Boulevard and Maple Lane. The following week, water main installation will continue on Maple Lane, working east from the Maple Lane and Victoria Lane intersection.
The week of May 21st, the concrete curb and sidewalk restoration was completed at the intersection of Elk Grove Boulevard and Victoria Lane. The water main within the intersection is still undergoing chlorination testing. The week of May 28th, work activities will include roadway patching and landscape restoration within the Elk Grove Boulevard and Victoria Lane intersection. In addition, the water main installation on Victoria Lane between Elk Grove Boulevard and Maple Lane is scheduled to resume.
The week of May 14th, water main installation work continued along the south side of Elk Grove Boulevard and Victoria Lane intersection this week. After the installation is completed, the water main in the intersection will be pressure tested and chlorinated. The week of May 21st, the contractor will begin prep work in the intersection for the replacement of concrete curbs and sidewalks affected by the water main work.
The Village will be replacing the existing water main along Maple Lane from Victoria Lane to Maple Court. The project includes the installation of a new 12” water main, residential service connections, pavement patching, and landscape restoration. The project is anticipated to begin construction later this spring.
