PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 8-2:D of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Elk Grove Village, the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village will conduct a public hearing at the hour of 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020 via teleconference to consider the petition of Jarett Reinwald and Amy Cunningham seeking variations from the Elk Grove Village Zoning Ordinance No. 2410 as it pertains to permitted locations for fences in residential zoning districts. 

Section 3-7: D (3) prohibits fences from being constructed within the required front yard and beyond a line extended from the nearest front corner of the principal building located on an adjacent single-family residential lot.  The petitioner is requesting to install a four (4’) foot high open type fence which will extend approximately sixteen (16’) feet beyond the nearest front corner of the principal structure on the adjacent single-family residential lot to the west at 1209 Helen Lane.   

Additionally Section 7A-1:B (2) prohibits fences greater than four (4’) feet in height to be located closer than ten (10’) feet to the street side property line between the front edge of the house and the rear edge of the house and no closer than three (3’) feet to the street side property line between the rear edge of the house and the rear property line. The petitioner is requesting to replace a portion of their existing fence along Rohlwing Road with a six (6’) foot high privacy fence, located three (3’) feet from the street side property line and extending approximately twelve (12’) feet in front of the rear edge of the house.
