DESCRIPTION:<p style="text-align: center;">Elk Grove Village, in conjunction with the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC), is sponsoring a Document Destruction and Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, June 6th.</p><p align="center"><b>James Paul Petri Public Works Facility<br>450 E. Devon Avenue<br>Saturday, June 6, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.</b></p><p style="text-align: center;"><u>Residents who arrive at the event prior to 9 a.m. often experience increased wait times. To prevent traffic back-ups on Devon Ave, we encourage residents to arrive after 9 a.m.</u></p><p><strong>EVENT INFORMATION</strong><br>• IDs will be checked to verify residency.<br>• Residents will unlock/open the trunk from inside the vehicle and allow staff to unload the items.<br>• Residents must live in one of SWANCC’s member communities to participate.<br>• Materials from businesses, institutions or schools will not be accepted.&nbsp;<br>• If an item is not listed below, you can check the <a href="https://swancc.org/index.php" target="_blank">SWANCC website</a> to see how to recycle the item.<br>• If you are using a mapping tool to find the event, you must enter the full address (450 E Devon Ave, Elk Grove Village, IL). The James Paul Petri Public Works Facility is located on Devon Avenue, just west of Tonne Road.</p><p><strong>ABOUT PAPER SHREDDING</strong><br>How to prepare for a Document Destruction event:<br>• Paper must be dry, clean, and loose<br>• Remove metal clips, plastic sleeves, folders, and binders (small staples are okay)<br>• Place paper in paper shopping bags or cardboard boxes - NO PLASTIC BAGS - please!<br>• Limited to six (6) bags or boxes<br><br>Accepted Documents&nbsp;<br>• Bank Statements<br>• Financial planning statements<br>• Medical history forms<br>• Retired tax documents&nbsp;<br>• Documents with personal information such as social security numbers<br><br>Unaccepted documents – recycle these items in your curbside recycling&nbsp;<br>• Magazines<br>• Junk Mail<br>• Ads or coupons<br>• Newspapers<br><br>Don’t do the following….<br>• Place batteries, medications, sharps and household chemicals, or any items containing these materials.&nbsp;<br>• Bring paper in plastic bags.
