Hurricane Dorian Relief Efforts for the Bahamas
Earlier this week, Hurricane Dorian dealt a devastating blow to two major islands in the Bahamas – Grand Bahama and Abaco. The Village is keeping the Bahamian people, government leaders and all those participating in rescue and recovery efforts in our hearts as they continue to confront the devastating effect of Hurricane Dorian.
Over the past year, our community has developed a unique connection to the Bahamas through our sponsorship of the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl. Our deepest sympathies go out to those who have lost family members, and have had their homes and communities destroyed by the storm. We know the Bahamas will rebuild and our thoughts and prayers are focused squarely on the safety of our partners and friends in the Bahamas.
We invite members of our community to share their support for the Bahamian people by contributing to disaster relief organizations to fund recovery efforts. The Bahamas has set up an online resource center that is providing updates on relief efforts as well as a list of trusted partners to whom donations can be provided.
Hurricane Dorian is still active and moving along the east coast of the United States. Our thoughts are also with fellow Americans and first responders.
