Overnight Parking Restrictions Waived for the Holidays
Overnight parking restrictions are waived from Friday, December 20, through Sunday, January 5, and residents and visitors can park on residential streets overnight without receiving a ticket.
Please note that it is prohibited to park on residential streets if there is more than 2 inches of snow on the ground or if the Village is expecting snow. Vehicles must be cleared from the streets until snow removal operations are finished.

2020 Citizen’s Police Academy Enrollment Open Now!
The Elk Grove Village Police Department is now accepting applications for the 2020 Citizen’s Police Academy that’s open to anyone who lives or works in the Village and is over the age of 18.
February 6, 2020 – March 26, 2020
Thursday Evenings: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Redevelopment of the Former Elk Grove Hotel
On Tuesday, December 10, the Elk Grove Village Board approved rezoning of the former Elk Grove Hotel site located at 1600 Oakton Street to pave the way for a $25 million redevelopment that will bring two nationally recognized hotels – Country Inn & Suites and Tru by Hilton – as well as a retail restaurant use to the Village.
This development will occur in phases, the first of which will be the renovation of a portion of the former Elk Grove Hotel into a Country Inn & Suites. Construction for the first phase will being in the early spring of 2020.

Elk Grove Village Businesses Make a Donation to a Youth Home in the Bahamas
Elk Grove Village based companies and businesses have donated nearly $50,000 in much-needed supplies to Ranfurly Homes for Children, a youth home in the Bahamas, as part of a Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl Charitable Initiative coordinated by the Village. The donated supplies include building materials such as doors, appliances, and other items that the youth home will utilize to keep their facilities operating safely to support children who are displaced as a result of family problems, abandonment, and orphanage.
