Resident Parking Permit Required for Streets Near Busse Woods
The Forest Preserve District of Cook County has decided to continue the practice of closing the parking lots at Busse Woods on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Memorial Day, while leaving the trails open. Though the Village has concerns about this decision, we are working with the county to try to minimize its impact on Elk Grove.
The Village is putting into place weekend (Fri - Sun, and Memorial Day) parking restrictions on streets near Busse Woods to prevent trail visitors from parking on Village streets. Residents living in this area will be able to print a temporary parking permit, which will allow vehicles registered to an Elk Grove Village address to park in the street while restrictions are in place.
Residents simply need to print the permit form, then fill it out and place it on the dashboard of their vehicle. Again, the permit is only valid in vehicles registered to an address in Elk Grove Village, and any unauthorized vehicles will be towed.
The Village will have extra police officers in the area to enforce restrictions and to help address safety issues for pedestrians.
We apologize for the inconvenience this causes to our residents. If you have any questions about how to print the permit, please call our Police Information Center at 847-357-4100.
