COVID-19 Vaccine Update

Post Date:01/25/2021 3:29 PM
The distribution of the coronavirus vaccine in Suburban Cook County is controlled by the Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH); however the Village is doing everything we can to support the vaccine distribution effort.

The Village is participating on regular calls with the federal government, the State of Illinois, Cook County, and Alexian Brothers Hospital. We continue to offer our assistance, resources, and locations to make the vaccine available to our community as quickly as possible.

Cook County announced that the vaccine plan has moved to Phase 1b--which includes seniors 65 and over, and front line essential workers, but they have not yet released details on when eligible residents can get the vaccine. They advise that vaccine supply remains extremely limited.

To register for information on the COVID-19 vaccine in Cook County, sign up with the Cook County Health Department at vaccine.cookcountyil.gov.

By signing up on their website, residents will receive:
  • Updates on the Vaccine;
  • Notification for when vaccine administration is open to their phase;
  • Information on scheduling a vaccine appointment through Cook County Health; and
  • Information on vaccine distribution locations throughout Cook County.

For those having difficulty with the website, or without access to the internet, CCDPH has also established a vaccine sign-up hotline. CCDPH Vaccine Sign-Up Hotline: 833-308-1988.

In addition to registering for updates from CCDPH, residents are strongly encouraged to pursue all options for receiving the vaccine. The State of Illinois Vaccine Locator website provides a directory of locations offering COVID-19 vaccines, including sites in Cook County. Residents should contact their doctor directly to see if they are scheduling appointments to receive the vaccine, and can also look for vaccine appointments through Walgreens, CVS, Jewel-Osco, Mariano's, Meijer, Walmart, or wherever possible.

The Village will continue to share any updated information we receive about the coronavirus vaccine on EGTV Channel 6 and the Village website as soon as it becomes available.
