Elk Grove Village Cares: Upcoming Events

Post Date:08/08/2022 3:37 PM

CDC provisional data reported an estimated 100,306 drug overdose deaths in the US during a 12-month period ending in April 2021, which is an increase of 28.5% from the previous year. Now more than ever, our community must come together with compassion and commitment to prevent more lives from being lost to the overdose crisis and opioid addiction.

If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, the Elk Grove Village Cares is here to help. EGV Cares aims to make it easier for those suffering from addiction to access and remain in treatment, to strengthen the community support network, and to eradicate the stigma of opioid addiction.

The Elk Grove Village Police Department invites you to join Elk Grove Village Cares and the Kenneth Young Center at the following free events:

  1. International Overdose Awareness Day: An evening of remembrance, speakers, resources, and community connection. The gathering will include a candle-light vigil honoring those we have lost, as well as music and quiet reflection.
