Late last night, the Northwest Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Agency (NSMJAWA) successfully completed repairs on the transmission line that supplies Elk Grove Village and all NSMJAWA communities with water from Lake Michigan. We are pleased to report that water service has returned to normal for all residents and businesses.
Our backup water supply system operated as designed, ensuring that residents continued to receive clean, uninterrupted Lake Michigan water throughout the repair process. This highlights the importance of our investment into our backup systems, proactive infrastructure planning and regional collaboration in maintaining a resilient water system.
The Village would like to extend our gratitude to our water interconnect partners, the Village of Schaumburg, Village of Roselle, City of Wood Dale, Village of Arlington Heights, and the DuPage Water Commission for helping to ensure a consistent water supply during the repair.
Additionally, we extend our gratitude to our dedicated Public Works staff, who worked around the clock to ensure uninterrupted service. Their hard work and commitment to the community are greatly appreciated!
