Elk Grove Village Remains the Most Affordable Community

A 2025 cost-of-living survey of seven comparable communities confirms that Elk Grove Village continues to offer the lowest cost of living for residents. The Village has held this distinction for more than 10 years. For the 27th consecutive year, Elk Grove Village maintained the lowest combined property tax rate in the area.

The annual survey compares the full range of municipal taxes and fees, including property and sales tax, waste and recycling, and water/sewer rates, and shows Elk Grove Village with the lowest annual municipal impact at $11,300. This affordability is made possible by a strong business community and the Village’s commitment to delivering high-quality services at reasonable costs, reinforcing Elk Grove Village as the Exceptional Community.
