Public Works Open House

Memorial Day Observance Ceremony 

Join the Village in honoring and recognizing all men and women who have sacrificed their lives as a member of the United States Armed Forces. The event will take place at the Elk Grove Park District Pavillion in the gym.

Document Destruction and Electronics Recycling Event 

The Village, in conjunction with the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC), will host a Document Destruction and Electronics Recycling event. This event is limited to residents of SWANCC members communities. IDs will be checked, and materials from businesses, institutions, or schools will not be accepted. On Thursday, April 16, Jarosch Bakery, Tensuke Market, Vini’s Pizza, and 7 mile Cycles held a joint grand opening for their new commercial spaces at the Vue. This marks the completion of the first phase of the mixed-use development at the southeast corner of Arlington Heights and Higgins Roads.  

During the second phase of the project, the developer will begin construction on the apartment building, which will include a parking garage within the structure. Once completed, the garage will provide additional parking to support the commercial area.  

During this phase of construction, the new commercial buildings will remain accessible via northbound Arlington Heights Road and eastbound Higgins Road through right-in, right-out access only (See diagram below). Additional access points will open once construction is complete. Please use caution when traveling through the area, as it is an active construction site. We appreciate your patience and understanding. 

During the month of June, as part of the Village’s Sustainability Action Plan and in collaboration with the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County, the Village will conduct a pilot recycling survey and education program in select areas. Households within the selected survey areas will receive a letter from the Village this month and can opt-out of the program at any time.
