The Village of Itasca will be hosting a large event on Saturday, July 4th, beginning at 4:00 p.m. In preparation, the Elk Grove Village Police Department and Public Works Department will implement temporary parking restrictions on July 4th only to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
To maintain clear access for emergency vehicles, parking will be prohibited on the fire hydrant side of all streets noted below. Keeping the roadways open is critical to allow police, fire, and public works personnel to respond quickly to any emergency situation. Staff will be patrolling the area throughout the day to ensure compliance. If you are expecting visitors on July 4th, please allow them to use your driveway or ensure they park on the permitted side of the street and arrive early. Additionally, to improve access to the Talbots Mill area, the chain lock at Park Boulevard and Martha will be removed during the end of Itasca event, allowing one-way traffic south on Martha Street to access Talbots Mills area.
Elk Grove Village continues to actively coordinate with the Village of Itasca to manage traffic and ensure the safety and protection of our residents before, during, and after the Itasca fireworks which are scheduled for approximately 9:45 p.m. Devon Avenue between Arlington Heights Road and Rohlwing Road will have limited accessibility starting at 9:00 p.m. Residents with identification may notify officers that they live in the neighborhood and will be granted access when it is safe to do so. Please anticipate delays as post event traffic clears the area.
