Project Description

This spring, the Village will begin water main improvements to the 12” watermain along Elmhurst Road north of Landmeier Road.  The project will improve fire protection in that area by installing new valves and fire hydrants.  

Project Updates

August 1, 2025: This week, asphalt pavement was restored on Elmhurst Road and the Oasis frontage street, Tyler Road. Grading, in preparation of final landscaping also occurred on the east side of Elmhurst Road. Next week, the landscaper will be out restoring the parkways.

July 11, 2025: This week, Acqua Contractors bored water main and casing pipe underneath Elmhurst Road at the south hydrant location. They also installed hydrants on the east side of Elmhurst Road and made the connection to the existing water main. Next week, restoration work will occur on the roadway patches and in the Oasis Mobile Home parking lot.

July 3, 2025: This week, there was no work completed. Next week, it is anticipated that the casing pipe will be bored under Elmhurst Rd. followed by the installation of the water main.

June 13, 2025: This week, work resumed with Acqua digging the pits for the south fire hydrant extension. Pipe and casing were bored underneath Elmhurst Road. Next week, the water main connection to the Village’s main will occur and the hydrants will be installed.

June 6, 2025: This week, lane closures on both northbound and southbound Elmhurst Road have been lifted following the completion of concrete roadway patching. Next week, construction activities will resume with the excavation of pits to facilitate the boring of the water main beneath Elmhurst Road. This is a preparatory step for the installation of a new fire hydrant at the south location near the frontage road leading into Oasis Mobile Home Park.

May 30, 2025: This week, the concrete subcontractor completed pouring the concrete panels along both northbound and southbound Elmhurst Road. Once the concrete has achieved sufficient strength, the permanent lane closure on southbound Elmhurst Road will be lifted. Construction activities for this project are scheduled to pause briefly and will resume after the school year concludes. This break will facilitate coordination for the installation of the south hydrant near the frontage road leading into Oasis Mobile Home Park.

May 23, 2025:  This week, Acqua Contractors bored the water main and casing under Elmhurst Road in order to connect the north fire hydrant extension to the Village’s water main system. The contractor also replaced concrete panels on Elmhurst Road in order to repair the road where digging occurred. Next week, the contractor will excavate and bore for the south fire hydrant.
