Project Description

This spring, the Village will resume rear yard drainage improvements in an effort to enhance stormwater drainage along the property line through the installation of storm sewer underdrains and inlets. All work will be performed within the public utility and drainage easements. Following the installation of the underdrain, the contractor will restore the area by regarding and putting down topsoil and sod. Due to limited access after sod restoration, residents are requested to water the sodding area.

Project Updates

July 2, 2026: This week, Prime finished installing pipe and inlets as well as grading and landscape restoration on the rear yards between Eden Road and Creighton Avenue. Next week, the contractor will take some time off before beginning the next location, the rear yards between Tottenham Lane and Brandywine Avenue, at the end of next week.

June 26, 2026: This week, Prime finished grading and landscape restoration on the east section of Placid Way and Clearmont Drive. They moved to the next location, the rear yards between Eden Road and Creighton Avenue/Grange Road. Next week, the contractor will continue installing pipe and inlets at the Eden/Creighton/Grange location.  

June 19, 2026: This week, Prime completed installing pipe and inlets heading east between the rear yards of Placid Way and Clearmont Drive. Next week, the contractor will finish grading and shaping the swales and move to the next location, the rear yards between Eden Road and Creighton Avenue.  

June 12, 2026: This week, Prime dodged the rain and continued installing pipe and inlets heading east between the rear yards of Placid Way and Clearmont Drive. Next week, the contractor will finish installing pipe and inlets at this location and grade and shape the swales. 

June 5, 2026: This week, Prime finished grading and shaping on the west half and placed seed and blanket. Work began on the east half with connecting to the existing structure at 237 Placid Way and installing pipe and inlets heading east. Next week, the contractor will begin continue installing pipe and inlets on the east half of the area. 

May 29, 2026: This week, Prime completed installing pipe and inlets on the west half of the rear yards between Clearmont Drive and Placid Way. Next week, the contractor will begin pipe installation on the east half of the area connecting to the existing inlet at 237 Placid Way. 

May 22, 2026: This week, Prime continued installing pipe and inlets on the south half of the rear yards between Clearmont Drive and Placid Way. Next week, the contractor will complete the south half of the area and prepare for grading and shaping. 

May 15, 2026: This week, Prime completed grading and restoration in the rear yards between Wilshire Avenue and Victoria Lane. They also moved to the third location, the rear yards between Clearmont Drive and Placid Way. Next week, the contractor will continue installing pipe and inlets as they make their way from the west end to the east end. 

May 8, 2026: This week, Prime completed installing pipe and inlets at the second location, the rear yards between Wilshire Avenue and Victoria Lane. Next week, the contractor will grade and shape the drainage swale and prepare for restoration. They will also move to the third location, the rear yards between Placid Way and Clearmont Drive.

May 1, 2026: This week, Prime began installing pipe and inlets at the second location, the rear yards between Wilshire Avenue and Victoria Lane. They began mid-block at 935 and will work their way southeast. Next week, work will continue installing pipe and inlets heading towards Carswell Avenue.

April 24, 2026: This week, Prime completed installing pipe and inlets as well as grading the swale above the pipe at the Fern location. Seed restoration was installed as well. Next week, work will begin at the second location, the rear yards between Wilshire Avenue and Victoria Lane. The contractor will connect to the inlet in the rear yard of 935 Wilshire and install pipe and inlets heading southeast towards Carswell Avenue.

April 17, 2026: This week, Prime Construction began work on the 2027 Residential Rear Yard Drainage program by connecting new perforated pipe into the inlet in the rear yard of 268 Fern Drive. Pipe and inlets were installed east. Next week, work will continue with the reshaping of the swale and restoration of the yards.

April 10, 2026: Next week, work will begin on the 2026 Residential Rear Yard Drainage Program. This year will kickoff with connecting to the existing drainage structure located midblock on Fern Drive and installing perforated pipe and inlets heading east.
