The vision of the Elk Grove Village Police Department is to make our community a safe place where all people can exist in peaceful harmony without crime.
The Elk Grove Village Police Department has eighty-seven (87) sworn officers, eighteen (18) full time personnel, and eighteen (18) part-time employees. Chief Charles Walsh is tasked with leading and managing the department, while reporting to the Mayor and the Village Manager on a variety of matters.
The Police Department is organized into two divisions each supervised by a Deputy Chief. The Field Services Division (FSD) is responsible for uniformed law enforcement services such as patrol and response. The Support Services Division (SSD) provides support for law enforcement activities such as investigations, records, social work, and crime prevention activities.
