The Field Services Division of the Elk Grove Village Police Department is led by Deputy Chief Nick Olsen and compromises of three patrol shifts, the Traffic Section, and the Canine Teams. With few exceptions, these officers continue to be the first responders to calls for service, conduct all preliminary investigations, and render immediate aid while attempting to provide solutions to community service issues and dangerous situations.
The Field Services Division strives to maintain a strong balance between providing quality services and enforcing laws and ordinances. Our officers pride themselves on being proactive as well as reactive in providing effective law enforcement operations. As a Police Department, one of our goals is to maintain peace and order throughout the Village of Elk Grove by providing high quality services. Therefore, we work diligently and strategically to develop plans and approaches that deal with critical issues that may impact our residents' quality of life. These quality of life issues remain high on our officers' priority list when deciding how and when to patrol their assigned areas. By remaining focused on proactive law enforcement practices and responsive to the needs of the community, we continually practice and reinforce our Community Oriented Policing philosophy.
