Public Works Citizens' Academy

Beginning in the Spring of 2020, the Elk Grove Village Public Works Department will be conducting its first Citizen's Public Works Academy for residents interested in learning more about the Public Works Department and its operations. The four-week program will begin on April 22, 2020 and take place at the James Paul Petri Public Works Facility located at 450 E. Devon Ave.

Topics covered include: Overview of each Public Works Activity including Utilities, Streets, Land & Forestry, Fleet, Building, and Engineering, hands on demonstrations of Department equipment, Capital Projects Planning, introduction to the Department’s use of technology including SCADA and GIS, and more.

Participants must be at least 18 years old.
