Yard Waste Collection

Yard waste is picked up each year from April 1 to December 15.  Yard waste collection takes place the same day as the homeowner's garbage collection date.

Yard waste includes leaves, brush, grass clippings, garden waste, and tree and brush trimmings. Under the Village collection program, yard waste must be placed in 30-gallon biodegradable "yard waste type" paper bag, unlined 30-gallon rigid metal or plastic garbage can, or in the 90-gallon wheeled containers available through Waste Management.

Plastic bags may not be used for any yard waste, and will not be picked up by Waste Management

Yard Waste Stickers Are Required

Each homeowner participating in the program will be required to purchase a sticker(s). Each sticker costs $2.50, which covers the cost of pick up and disposal of the yard waste, and they come in packs of 10. Residents shall affix one (1) sticker on each 30-gallon container (paper bag, metal/plastic trashcan) weighing no more than 45 lbs, or three (3) stickers on the 90-gallon wheeled container available through Waste Management. Residents must face the sticker on the street side of the container(s) for proper pick up.

Stickers are available for purchase at the Village Municipal Complex and at a number of retail outlets. The following stores sell yard waste stickers:

  • Jewel Food Store (20 W. Biesterfield Rd)
  • Ace Hardware (821 Nerge Rd) - May Charge Convenience Fee

Small Branch Pick-Up

If you have any brush or tree trimmings, cut them up and bind them into bundles of no more than four (4) feet in length, two (2) feet in diameter and weighing no more than fifty (50) pounds per bundle. Tree trimmings and branches cannot be wider than three and a half (3.5) inches in diameter. Please do not bind the bundle with wire or nylon cord.

No sticker is required for brush or tree trimmings as long as they are prepared properly.

Spring Large Branch Pick-up Program

The Village appreciates our resident’s efforts to maintain their property and recognize that disposing of tree debris from Spring cleanup may be difficult. The Department of Public Works conducts a Large Branch Collection Program to assist residents for one week during the Spring.
